Activating your Member Self Service Account

Creating your Member Self Service Account If you have not used Member Self Service (MSS) before, or if you are accessing the upgraded site for the first time, you will need to create an account.

Navigate to the Member Self Service website and select ‘Create an Account’ to begin your registration. You will be prompted to acknowledge use of your personal data to provide the service.

If you have not received an activation key, select ‘Create an Account without an Activation Key’.

When prompted, enter the following information in the appropriate fields, and then click ‘Submit’:

  • Your National Insurance Number
  • Your surname
  • Your date of birth

If we hold an email address for you on our system, you will have the option to receive a registration link by email or to receive an activation key in the post.

If you choose to receive the email, click on the link when it arrives to verify your email address. This link is valid for 24 hours and will take you to a page where you will be prompted to create a password. This must have a mix of lower- and upper-case letters, numbers and special characters. You will then be able to log in to your MSS account.

If we do not hold an email address for you, or if the one we hold is out of date, please allow 5 to 10 working days to receive your activation key in the post.

If you have received an activation key, select ‘Create an Account with an Activation Key’.

When prompted, enter the following information in the appropriate fields, and then click ‘Submit’:

  • Your National Insurance Number
  • Your surname
  • Your date of birth
  • Activation key

Please take care when entering your activation key as it is case-sensitive.

On the next screen, you will then be prompted to enter your email address, which will be your username for your MSS account. Please use a personal email address so that you can still access MSS when you leave your employment.

You will then be prompted to create a password. This must have a mix of lower- and upper-case letters, numbers and special characters.

A verification code will then be sent by email to verify your email address. Once you have entered the code, you will be able to log in to your MSS account.

If you are not able to create an account, please contact us and we will be able to support you.
