Claiming your deferred pension
The earliest date you can claim your deferred pension is determined by the date you left the pension scheme. The national members' website provides information about when you can claim your pension and the reductions that might be applied if they are claimed before Normal Pension age.
The Pensions Shared Service will write to you each year, to tell you the current value of your pension benefits and the date on which they become payable.
When you are approaching your retirement date, the Pensions Shared Service will contact you with the forms you need to complete in order to claim your pension benefits.
Annual updates and letters telling you how to claim your pension benefits will be sent to your home address, so if you move home it is important that you inform the Pensions Shared Service of your new address by email or in writing.
