Annual Benefit Statements (ABS) FAQs

Read the FAQs to the 2024 Annual Benefit Statements. 

I need to update my details

You can update your address details by using Member Self Service (MSS). To update your name, date of birth, National Insurance number or marital status, evidence should be uploaded to MSS and you should use the ‘Change of Details’ question type to notify us. If you are currently paying into the pension scheme, you should also inform your employer.

I need to update my nomination details

You can update your nomination using MSS. You will find details of your nominated beneficiaries in the "Manage beneficiaries" screen on your dashboard.

I have more than one employment (Multiple Employments)

You will get an Annual Benefit Statement for each job where you pay pension contributions. You will receive one letter for each statement in the “Documents and Uploads” section. On the Annual Benefit Statement screen, use the drop-down menu in the top-left corner to select between your different jobs.

I have a question about something on my statement / I have no statement on my record

We cannot answer specific individual questions over the phone. These should be submitted via MSS using the ‘Active Member – Annual Benefit Statement’ or ‘Deferred Annual Benefit Statements’ question type.

If there is no statement in your MSS account then it could be because you had no pensionable pay in 2023/24.

My employment/pay details are wrong

The statement is based on information received from your employer. We will not amend this unless directed by your employer. You should contact your (former) employer with any such queries.

I have a question about McCloud

We cannot provide individuals with McCloud figures at this time. These will be included in the 2025 statement. If you would like to inform us of previous Public Sector membership, you should do this using the ‘McCloud – PSPS Membership’ question on MSS. I can’t see my additional contributions

Statements for Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs) are issued separately by your AVC provider. Information on Additional Pension Contributions (APCs) are included in the figures on the annual statement.

I want to transfer out/retire

Transfers out and deferred retirements can be requested through MSS or in writing. There is a CETV request form and active retirement request form on our website.
